Finally got around to checking into the cuttin edge at CAT for the extension.  Went to CAT.  Found a six foot cutting edge with three of the four holes that would match up.  Part #8D-2786.  $106.26.  Then had to have 18" cut off each end.  Three of the four holes will match up.  Following are some pictures.

Edge as the six foot.  Note that the cuts have already been made.

With the sextions cut and old edges.  Well I'm still having troubles with the picture post so will have to wait till it is operating properly.  But I plan on posting the pictures of the sections cut off and after mounting.  We'll see how the picture post thing works later.  Dave

Tried to post more pictures, but it's just not working.  Don't understand what's going on.

Seen the other post with pictures and they look good Dave. Do the holes in the new 6' cutting edge line up with the holes for the main part of the Allis blade?

Travis, it appears that the holes for the six foot edge will line up.  The two end holes line up.  Then there are holes every six inches.  Consequesntly, that means there are holes in the edge that do not have holes in the blade.  Let me know if you have questions.  We still have to get together sometime, as we are so close.  Thanks, Dave

Guys,   FYI   You can save 1/2 if you buy 9W2297 cutting edge.  The difference is the 9W2297 is not heat treated, but otherwise the same.
