This week my Old A-C dealership tour made a stop in Howard, South Dakota at what used to be Clarke & Sons Impl. Co.  I was told by a few locals that the dealership had been closed up for at least fifteen years.  One of the sons went into the business of customizing corn head and has made a full time job outta that.  The father of the business now works in the local bank in town.  The old A-C dealership building and shop now appeared to be used as a wharehouse for the new business.

It looks as if the ALLIS-CHALMERS sign once hung here on the building.

Old dealer sticker on a late model ALLIS-CHALMERS 200.

Todays dealer sticker.

Just wanted to share.  Thanks.

Tim Clarke has posted on here before. He had some pics of a old fuel consumption tester or something along those lines. He had his auction of the dealership in March of 1998. I think they continued as just a repair shop a couple years more.

Is there anything left to the  old dealership  besides the building .

Most of this thread is pretty accurate. What remains of the old dealership consists of things that I wasn't ready to part with when we closed. Still have my literature, parts books and dealer trinkets and about a dozen tractors. I lurk on this site regularly, and am currently playing with one of my D-10's. Have a 320 acre sandbox about 15 miles west of Howard that my great grandfather homesteaded. We primarily farm for pheasants (more fun than raising corn). I work at Miner County Bank as a loan officer. Life is good. Stop and visit if you're in the neighborhood.  Tim Clarke
