Subject: Loader on 160 - Need Advice

I am going to put a loader on a 1970 model "One Sixty".  Is the hydraulic pump large enough to handle the regular duties as well as the loader.  Also what and where is the best place to tap into the system?  Is there a fesible way to mount a front pump?  Any help and/or advise will be greatly appreciated.  Thanx in advance.

160 should run a loader just fine and anything else for a tractor of that size.  Just plug into the rear remotes.

Two IFs
1.  IF it were me
2.  IF the remote valve levers are the same as the 190, with the very aggressive "detents"

I would plumb a different two or three spool valve into one of the factory remotes.  I think you will eventually get very frustrated trying to use a loader with the factory setup for the levers.

Plus this gives you one open remote valve for some other use as needed.

If you use the factory remotes to run the load, be sure to put ball valves between the quick coupler and loader bucket hoses, so you can shut them off with the loader lifted up and bleed the pressure off and then unhook the hoses to do other things. and still plug them back in easly

The loader has it's own controls.  I just need flow and pressure and the ability to use three point hitch and rear remotes at the same time as the loader.  Thanx

Just adding a tee in the pressure line will not work. The system is open center, You will need a diverter valve or a power beyond setup. If you don't none of the hydraulics will work.

If both valves are open center you should be able to hook them in series (the outlet of one to the inlet of the other) and be fine. But you will only be able to use one fuction at a time.

If you hook them in series, the first valve should have power beyound. If not, it may not work properly.
You may still will only be able to use one function at a time. Load checks on the work ports will keep from back feeding from one function to the other.
