Wait a minute! We see lots of repeat posts on many topics (ex: converting 6v to 12v, tractor shows, engine issues...). One of the nice features of this website is that there aren't a lot of rules, and one rule we don't have is that we can have only one thread per topic.

That said.....the AGCO response is typical big corporation language indicating that "here's an answer to your input, and we really don't care what you think." Been around large corporations for 35+ years......sounds familiar!

I had the New Holland guy come by today. Looking at the TV6070 bi-directional tractor to replace my AGCO. Looking at other brands besides AGCO now. Went to the Kubota and JD dealer on Friday.

I am dissapointed that AGCO is going red, they mite as well go deutz green. Seriously, how much trouble is it to paint a tractor any of 3 different colors. I think I hear aircooled engines again.

ya know....they forget who kept them in business in the first place here in the usa, when they started dropping dealerships, you're gonna lose business, if agco would put a dealership every 100-150 miles, they would wipe out alot of competion, ya see...other brands have done the dealership thing...either build a new building or lose your dealership! a pretty building does not do a farmer any good, it's the people inside that make the difference, i know of several dealerships (all brands) that have gone thru this phase. we allis people were all very happy when agco formed and saved allis from extinction...(pardon some of my spelling) but now....they are getting to be no better than john deere. the only thing saving the green tractors here in the usa are the kickbacks from the toys, blankets, clocks, lights, clothing, songs, etc... alot of people and corp's have made alot of money by making things that make about every piece of john deere equipment work better or make them work at all. ya all didn't see that happening with allis-chalmers, they made it right the first time! that's pride in their workmanship! nope...now agco wants to be just like john deere, i'll bet those executives even have a john deere mower in their garages!! i could go on...but i think you get the picture!....curt

I received the same response today. Haven't they heard the old saying, "Dance with who brung ya?" I just can't believe how easy it was for them to disregard the wishes of the Allis fans. This will be the last straw for many orange customers, as we are witnessing here in our ranks.

Just let them know that you don't plan on buying anything they sell, and you are selling or scrapping the stuff you own that has a connection to their business. I, for one, am serious about selling everything I have that says Allis Chalmers, or Agco on it. I don't care about heritage. My grandfather's first tractor was a WC. My dad bought the first 190 in this area. My first tractor was an Agco.

But now it is done. I will let them know. I will sell my gleaner combine, and I won't look back.

German owners eliminating north American brands seems too similar to Hitler in WWII. the owner is a retard. I hope he gets well someday, but until then, he lost me, and my business. Hopefully Germany will fall into the core of the earth and take the owner with it. Their heads are way too big. Their accent is too outrageous. I spit on them for being so callous.

Hopefully enough people are with me and we get them to sell the name to an american with vision. They, obviously have no 20/20 sight, let alone vision. I hope them the best in life. In the meantime, I hope they wise up, or die a sad death(like a plane crash) and give up dealing internationally.

I guess we have to face it. AGCO is dead. Red and yellow do not make Agco nor anything near what we hold dear. I hope they just pack up and move everything to Germany. They sell red and yellow over there. Of course, they didn't shut down all the dealers over there.

Bob has a point. To me Allis Chalmers died in 1985. AGCO will never be Allis Chalmers in my book, and until someone turns the lights back on in West Allis, it will remain dead. My biggest fear is someone marketing tractors under the AC name, but it not being the quality we are used too.

Allis has had several deaths IMO. The last being when the plane crash killed some of the AC guys for AGCO and when Martin took over.

New Holland? Fiat bought the Ford line and then started painting all their tractors blue and phased out there own Fiat colors. Sounds familiar!

If New Holland has a better dealer or is closer, it makes sense to go to them. If you are going to them because you think they are more upstanding, then I would disagree!

I have three New Holland dealers closer than the AGCO one I go to. It's hard to beat my AGCO dealer though. Their very nice people and good to work with. They sell New Holland stuff but am not sure on the tractors yet. I have a feeling they might go that way so I'll be sure to check with them.

I guess upstanding is in the eye of the beholder. AGCO cheated on me so I'm divorcing here and all her friends. New Holland may have cheated on her companion and I definitely take that into consideration, but she didn't cheat on me. There are a lot of things I don't like about New Holland because of AGCO. Their corporate/wall street still, their foreign owned and now foreign run, and their blue. I think their boomer line is ok, their TV6070 I've liked since versatile and I really like the fact that they built the new 8n. It shows a loyalty to their roots that AGCO hasn't shown in the past several years. I don't care for any of their other tractors. The big ones I think are made in US which is a bonus. I'm not sure what I'll do except I know it won't be AGCO. New Holland is one of the options and a good candidate.

I'm emotional with all this but also value conscious. It takes a long time for me to work out a deal. I could really use a utility tractor/loader and Kubota and Deere lead in that. Deere only because theirs is a heavy built tractor and the only one assembled in the US. I could hold onto my RT100a but I don't see it holding it's value as the orange is fazed out. I could get another big tractor and that's really between Kubota, Deere and maybe JCB, (Deutz is a looonnng shot). I don't really need a big tractor and big used hp is cheap so if I did down the road I could pick up something. Anyway, it really depends on the deal. Like I said, I've always like the bi-directional tractor and it would fit my needs well. Having an RT for me was a tough process and I don't want to loose money on it but there are some deals out there right now. And, the value of my orange AGCO took a hit a couple of weeks ago when they said their not making them anymore.

Byron I understand your issue but the value of the orange tractor has not dropped to an AGCO Dealer... Deere and NH might tell you that. I only sold 3 new orange tractors last week so I wouldnt give yours away yet.

I agree the the bi-directional is a handy unit. The big New Holland is a pretty good tractor. It is a Magnum with different sheet metal. The mid-size 90-160 range was pretty iffy. They kept the ford midsize and sold the case midsize to McCormick. I think the Case was the better unit. In the smaller units, they are decent as far as I know. I know in the past, Ford normally had sleeveless engines. Not sure if they still are. You would want to go with sleeves if you keep it for a long time and will need to overhaul.

We looked at Kubota. They make a good engine but the tractor seems light and "tinny". Deere 5000 range are imported with hoods and tires slapped on in the US so I am not sure if they are really US made.

Have fun shopping! I take a long time to buy stuff too but get what I want when I make up my mind.

Deere 5000 D/E made in india. Deere 5000 M assembled in US with who knows what they have for components. Kubota can't compete with Deere/Case/Agco on big tractors. Their bigger tractors competes well with an AGCO LT or Deere 6000 series but I'm not sure I wanna go there. If you want an RT/DT sized and equipped tractor you gotta go with CNH/AGCO or Deere. But then some other doors open I'm not familiar with like Versatile, JCB etc. Mc Cormick is in there too but am not super familiar with them. Also, Deutz/SAME, Landinni etc. There are choices.

I won't give it away. I got a good deal on it and I'll get what I traded for in it. I did that on my last tractor and the dealer still did good. I'm sure the value will drop in the next year or so as orange disappears and a lot of the AGCO dealers go to other brands. One Case/IH dealer has told me he has a buyer that wants an orange AGCO when they get one in on trade. We'll see. I know you gotta find one on the lot you like and that's the bummer with the New Holland. They have one but it's blue. I don't care for blue and the yellow looks better to me. I never thought I'd get anything but an orange tractor but I'm ticked at AGCO.

I have a Kubots M110 about 6 years old. It runs my Hesston 12' diskbine and Hesston 4600 baler. Sometimes I plow with it and an AC 3 bottom spinner plow but usually use the AC 7580 and JD 1710 disk chisel or 230 24' disk. The Kubota has plenty of power and is nice to run. The air conditioning on really hot days is less then great but blowing out the radiator helps. I like the two range, 8 speed power shift and outside 3 point control for attaching equipment. The price was right, I bought it from a dealer in Wyoming as the farm economy was slow and small tractors were selling fast and they needed the money for more small ones. There are 5 Kubota dealers 20 to 100 miles of me, one AGCO 60 miles away. I'm not as upset about the end of orange as a lot of you but if I owned stock in AGCO I would be raising hell with management. It is a bad, bad decision to drop Orange tractors in N. America.

Guys: I agree with many of the statements made above that Allis has been gone since 1985. Given Corporate Greed in all places on the American Landscape, I think the only feasible solution for Allis Tractors to make a comback is for us to continue to collect and manufacture our own parts, thereby saving the Orange Allis legacy. Or create an investment company, purchase the AC name and seek a builder to update the D series and start from there.

Damn shame that greed and corporate welfare has trampled on an American Instituition and cornerstone of the American Independence - "Allis Chalmers". I say we unite as an Investment Company and build Orange Tractors again till there found on every corner of the Globe.

Unfortunately, there is not a market for older tech tractors. The White tractor line is a prime example. The 6 speed with over/direct/under had been around since the 50s or 60s. They were simple and reliable. But no one would buy them. Imagine having to clutch to change gears!

I think it would be good to see old designs come back but don't think it will ever happen.

I doubt AC Energy would get into the industry again either. As a point of curiosity, I worked with an AC crew a couple years ago. They were pumping cryogenic nitrogen while we were drilling gas storage wells with coiled tubing. It was a surprise to see a blue and white truck pull on location with the AC logo on the door!
