I just recently picked up a nice set of used A-C WD headlights.  There is a bit of surface rust on the oval part though.  What's the best way to restore these so they don't  go down hill?  I was thinking of using some emery cloth, clean, prime with black and then paint with black.  Does this sound correct or has anyone restored headlights before and have any experiences to share?  Thanks in advance for all your assistance!

Glassbeading the shells and tubular mounts gets rid of all the rust, dirt n' grime giving you a clean finish for primer. A new set of reflectors helps tremendously with the brightness end of it if the reflectors aren't that great. Do the finish work, sand, prime, and paint and yer' done.  That's how I do em' here at the shop for our customer's. Just did a set of D14 lights for a customer bout' a month ago. They came out sweeet!  HTH
