Here is a pic of my D17 series 4 with loader.
Not the prettiest loader, but for $350 and a few mods, I can't complain.   Was on an Allis 185 before I put in on my D17.   The previous owner adapted a different bucket onto it and did a fairly good job.   The only thing I don't like is the tilt rams should be longer and have a longer throw, as they don't move the bucket up and down as long as I would like.   I have debated buying new rams and cutting off the mounts and welding them back on to accomodate the longer rams, but like many other projects, haven't gotten that far.   Works fine the way it is for now.

Dean, it is.   I have since mounted up a new set of those used aircraft tires that are like 20 ply.   They handle it just fine.    The tires I used to have on that tractor before the loader were pretty much shot, and the weight of the loader proved that!

Eldon, how high does your F10 loader go? That super 6 loader on the WD seems like it has wierd geometry on the hydraulics, never seen one like it before.

I'm wondering how it works too. Looks like the front frame that the cylinders push would have to slide back and forth where they are mounted to the loader ? How does it not hit the belt pulley when lowered ?

The Farmhand lifts high enough to scare you when you are directly under the bucket! I took it off the tractor probably 4 years ago so I could use it to plow with.

I sold the loader and tractor some time ago, but there was a linkage up front that changed the geometry as it lifted. If you look close you can see how it keeps the bucket level as it lifts and lowers. The arms are outside the belt pulley. It did have pretty good lifting power.

My Dad built this loader back in '59 or '60 TOTALLY from scratch, including the rams which he made out of black iron pipe and saw mandrel shaft. He had no torch so all the cutting was done with his Forney stick welder and/or a hand hacksaw. He was the best man on a hacksaw I have ever seen.
It is patterend after a well known brand that I can't recall the name of right now.
This is the first of three times I got stuck while bushhogging the property around the local firehouse back in August..

The longer the reach out front the more a loader takes weight off the tractor rear wheels. With my MF236 loader on the MF135 (loader rated for tractors from 35 to 74 hp) in snow when one tire chain came off, the tractor wouldn't move except by shoving with the bucket. That's the loader on my 4020 now. Now it has more than enough tractor under it to hold it and not so much tractor that the loader has been broken.

Here is my 1950 WD with a Farmhand F-19 loader. I think the loader is from the 50's or 60's. We just had to order new seals for the loader cylinders from Agco to stop the leaking. Photo was taken in 2009, it does not look that pretty now.

The 1066 does reach the ground.
We have the 4020 is set to help unload semi's on the tall trailers at one time we use to get tractors stack on top of the other rear tires.
There is holes were we could lower the loader.
It will touch but has to be angled to touch right now.

Hey, 1953CA, I think that's the only other "B" I've seen with a loader and a front pump.
Are both uprights hydraulic fluid tanks or just the left one?
I'm working on a power steering set-up for mine, it gets a little tough on the arms with a full bucket.

Hey Steve;

Just the left upright is the fluid tank.  I've pickup half a CA minus wheels and engine, and moved it around.  Main reason why I swapped the arched front end out for the adjustable front axle.

We like ours at the farm, run a 7' Woods mower to mow around the pits. Doesnt seem low on power where the WD did. 6' bucket is nice for moving large amounts of snow, at least, a lot better than a trip bucket.

I have found that it depends on what you are going to use it for, makes the differance if it is a good tractor or not. For a "chore" tractor meaning loader work, feeding, mowing pasteres it is pretty good. I don't like it in the hay field, which is the only field work I do. It is for lack of better words its clumsy. It don't turn as sharp as I think it should or compared to the FWA tractors at work. The controls are a little differant also. But it is easy to work on and everything is rebuildable with little in the way of parts. I will assure you it will start when no other diesel will. Last winter the block heater cord went out of it just before the big blizzard that we had, I think the day I was able to get home it was 10 or 13 degrees. I heated the glow plugs and it the switch and it started right up, later I remembered that the operators manual says in disconnect the hyd. pump I don't know how cold it would start with it disconnected.

I have a homemade loader for a WD behind the barn, but I have better options for loader tractors so it never gets used.

Bumping up an old bunch of posts on loaders. Thought these were neat! Maybe you have some to add?

This is the only loader tractor we have now.  Runs like a swiss watch even though it isn't an Allis...

I'll try to get some of the rest. The one in the background is a WD reversed. There are also 2-WD45's and an 880, 770, 77 Oliver's with loaders. The 880 has a two way bucket and the others have Farmhand loaders, F25 and F10. You can never have to many loaders.

I have one my uncle built back in the 60's it is a WD,  and burned out backhoe parts from the scrap yard, he was born and raised in south east Iowa, I have recently put cooler and electric fan on hydro system, the forks are welded solid and the bucket slips on to the forks, and has a thumb on top of the bucket.

Since 1973, Dad's most used loader until he retired from milking in 1997. Sits in the barn and not run in a couple years now.

My most used loader

My D19 with CaseIH 2250

Here is my neighbor's payloader when he was preparing a site for my new shed in 2012. Dad's Allis HD11 is there too.

This was my FIL's until I bought the tractor from him. I didn't take the loader.

This was first my Dad's tractor then my Father-in-law's tractor..... sits in a woods not far from me today. Hasn't been moved since the day of my FIL's sale. The guy who bought it just drove it home and parked it in the woods about 7 or 8 years ago. He's got a few combines and tractors that he bought that way and then never looked at them again.

Beautiful looking AC 170 with loader? Fully restored? or is she original? Very nice either way.
