A couple posts today have me wondering what is the biggest/most HP open station tractor Allis Chalmers made. The plow day 7030 had me looking twice!

It almost looks like a cut away cab. Was it that way from factory.

The neighbor had an 8050 open station, I would guess the 8070 would have been available too.

Dealer price books show a deduction of $3200 for cab and protective frame for the 7000 series. Noted that owner had to acknowledge that tractor was equipted with no roll-over protection.

Don't get me wrong Cummins makes a great engine and I even repowered a 8030 with a 6BT5.9 when the A-C 426 broke a main cap and cracked the block. Just one of those things that are neat to see a C-series in an Allis, but also sad at the same time.

Here's a 7030 fender tractor that was posted here before I believe.  -Wes

I think those 4-post ROPS canopies are butt ugly on any brand of tractor. It's kind of like they started putting a cab on it and ran out of money. The 2-post look nice though.

I've got an 85 Mack cabover with a "350" Cummins in it. Frankly I'm not sure what series motor it is, but it's a sweet runner. BTW ACFarmer, the truck's for sale if you can fit that Cummins in your 7080. LOL!

The 7080 was not offered with open station or rops. Cab was standard equipment. That one in the pics has had its cab literally cut apart to look like the rops model. The 7000 had 2 post rops while the rest had the 4 post. The 8000 series was offered with the open cab. Basically a stripped cab. No windows doors padding even had a different seat. Here are some pics I have saved over the years.

I have seen a 7060 open. The one thing I remember about it was a grab handle on the left side panel. I was a heavy cast iron handle. I have never seen one on any other tractor.

Oh, its a trick question. The HD41 will hold the biggest AC open station honor.

1981 dealer price sheet has 7080 with a deduction of $4650 for NoCab/Protective frame. Does this mean a 7080 could have been ordered as a "open station"?? One woul.d assume so.

My 7020 HighCrop has a Protective frame. The 7000 series  books I had have shows it was available  in 7010 thru 7080.

This is not the biggest - AC 7000.  But, I think it is one of the cleanest original that I ever saw at Milford Auction, Milford, IL.  It said it only had 1462 hours on it.  I am thinking that someone on this site purchased it??  I also like the AC field cultivator all painted up next to it.  It all looks like its sitting on an AC dealership equipment lot ready for delivery in 1975.

7050 open station I saw a few  years ago at the AGCO dealer in Albers, IL.  Mike

I bought a new 7040 with the canopy, Hated the canopy, found some fenders from a 7000 and made it open station. Sold it in 1985, have no idea where it is today.

fenders are different. not sure if they're like a 6080 or not.

You're going to have a problem stuffing that thing into a 7080. The 855cid Cummins engines are much, much bigger than the 5.9 Cummins most people use for repowers.

The Mountion Lake, MN store had a 7580 with flat top fenders over the rear tires. Jerry told me that the first 10 7580's had them flat and all that followed had the rear bent down.

That is a possibility if the order book shows that. All the sales literature i have shows the 7080 as having the cab as standard equipment. I have never seen a 7080 with rops unless it was a cut up cab as the one above. I saw an open station 7060 at Stitzels in Pa a few years back. It was mean looking.

That is Dans 7080's tractor. He cut the cab off and widened the fenders.
