Recently acquired a rear wheel driven single row planter and I am looking for a detailed diagram showing how to rebuild this. This is for a "G".   Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a Planet Jr.  Here might be a good place to start.

Does it look like this one?     It drives off the rear wheel of the tractor.

I have a few parts for six units of the power driven Planet jr seeder; everything below the drop tube and a few small pieces from immediately below the seed cans.  Let me know if you are seeking any of these.

No, my chain mounts on sprocket on outside of wheel.  I have a seed hopper with plates and it looks like a fertilizer hopper was mounted in front of seed hopper.  HAve  you ever seen one like this?  Thanks for the picture!

Forgot to mention that the bottom of your rig appears to be the same as mine.

I've not seen anything like what you described but there's a lot I haven't seen.  The only thing I could find was in my G implements book.  I never noticed that there was a chain driven planet Jr rig but it only has one hopper.  Here are the two pages from my book, see if this helps.

itrucker58,

The Planet jr ground driven seeder shown in JW in MO's post was often used in pairs or in threes on an the Allis G.  Each seed hopper fed two ground rigs so a pair of hoppers would plant four rows of seeds. The drive sprocket was usually mounted inside the tractor's rear wheel rim.  I've never seen it but I suppose it might be possible to mount ithe sprocket on the outside of the rim.  Can you send any pictures?

I have several extra ground rigs if you need them.

One other thought.  Could this unit possibly be a fertilizer side dresser?  My Dealer Repair Parts Catalog for Model G Implements from February 1953 includes, in addition to the Planet jr ground driven seeder and Planet jr power seeder, two other implements with a hopper:

1. A "FERTILIZER".  This unit is driven by a steel wheel carried in front to the front axle.
2. A "SIDE DRESSER". This unit is driven by a sprocket on the tractor's rear axle and has both right and left hand frames and hoppers.  Could it be that you have only the right or left hand side of this unit?
