i need to replace the hydraulic fluid and filter in my 190 diesel. i have used cenex quik lift and farm oyl hydraulic fluid in most every thing in the past but to lower cost i have access to a supply of o'reilly's 303 hydraulic fluid. Can i use it and still feel confident it will do the job ? thanks for your help. tractorman.

I am not an expert on this but I say NO!!The fluid in the 190 has to be hydraulic and transmission formula (known as hy-tran).The trans and rearend gears run in this oil also.I don't think the 303 will have the load capacity for the gears.
If you don't want to ruin parts the oil should be listed as meeting AGCO 821 specs.Wal-Mart even carries this.

Generic, Universal Tractor Fluid. It meets MOST mfg specs. This is a 40 year old tractor, modern oils are WAY better than the oils of yesteryear.
