taking the beans off around here , combine the field next to me yesterday and the dust was so heavy I could not see the red combine, then looked out back and most of my place was shrouded in a cloud of dust.

here in western Iowa we are going strong on the beans, but it is so dry the fire danger is extreme. beans only test 8.5% moisture but good yields.

Corn is about all done in west TN with yields very good. Neighbors started on beans this week and saw some cotton fields already picked near Jackson TN. Drought conditions early on hurt some areas to the south and west.

I don't farm but can tell you we are on track for wettest year in history. Sept was already wettest and as of August here in South Central Ohio we have had 70" of rain. Whole month of Sept has been soggy wet. Not one day was the field dry enough for field work. I planted 2 acres of sweet corn and harvested in the mud. Absolutely unbelievable!

In maryland we have had nothing but wet weather. Since the hurricane dumped 8 1/2 inches on us, we had 5 1/2" the following week, 2" the following week, then I think we had 3" last weekend. It seems like we keep getting hit with these large rains. Fields are extremely muddy. Most dairies didn't get their corn chopped due to the mud.

Dean We planted our corn and soybeans early June after it dried out since then it was a drought we harvested the wheat good crop 88 bu/acre corn and soybeans were in drought it had not rained June and July we needed a rain desperately after wheat harvest we attended the Gathering of the Orange excellent show while away the rain started it has been raining since until the past two weeks. Corn and soybeans look like a better than average crop just need more dry weather for the next too weeks to finish driying down the crop.

Wheatbreeder 25 bu wheat and now 35bu beans not quite a bumper crop. Corn is still pretty wet but is getting better with the 80 plus days, it's not going to be like the 230bu crop last year but hopfully 150-160.

In SW Minnesota, the beans are nearly all off and corn harvest is well underway. Yields are down due to the dry August and September. An early frost didn't help things any either. A lot of beans under 40 bushel. No drying fuel is needed, however.

Running beans hard in Northern Indiana.Yields are 20 to 60,and the pods are busting open and it looks like you went out with a fertilizer spreader and spread soybeans solid.

Beans are DRY here. Some pods are starting to pop and they are dropping on the ground before the combine gets near them. Lots of losses from shattering at the cutterbar this year....

My neighbor finished his beans today. He cut the 40 acres yesterday that he bought from my family last year and was very pleased to average 74 bu/acre on the 37 tillable. I think he's still smillin cause his wife said they sold most of them on contract for $13.60/bu

StewartMD, that's more rain then we get in this part of Colorado in a year on average! Talked to my cousin in NE Ohio last weekend. Too wet to do anything. The beans were starting to loose a few leaves but mostly green, the corn needed at least two more weeks of growing time. I know he didn't get some corn in the ground until late June. We only grow dry beans (Pinto's etc.) around here but they are all finished. Most corn is still green, a lot got planted late here too. If it frosts again tonight it might help.
