Anyone got any ideas how to remove a coroded piston I mean really stuck,Rained down exhaust into middle cyl. don't know how long it set but exhaust manifold is cracked and cylinder has a small crack no problem to fix if I could get the piston out.

Thanks for any info of any kind.

Remove the crankshaft and other two pistons then drive or press the other sleeve out of the block with piston & rod still stuck. You then have numerous options to remove the offending piston from that sleeve.

Pretty sure those Ford diesels of that era are going to be parent bore, so no sleeves to remove. I'd say your best bet is to let it soak in something (seems 50/50 acetone/atf is a favorite, but I've personally never used it, so can't vouch for it from personal experience, but never heard anything bad about it) or else break the piston out of there after you removed the crank and everything else. Then rebore the block and put in a repair sleeve.

undo its rod cap,and turn thr crank away abit if you can,doesnt have to be much,then get a piece of wood to put in the bore that is as big as the piston if possible and give it a belt down with a good size hammer .You will find after a few blows the piston will have moved down a 1/8 of an inch or so,you then get in a hone or sand paper and clean up the bore back to clean steel,dump in some diesel, and get underneath and knock the conrod piston up from the bottom out of the bore. HTH

Thanks guys it is true the engine does not have sleeves and I have the crank out of it and have soaked it with Hyd oil, auto. trans. fluid and diesel I would go bay every few hours and give it a lick with a block of wood and six lb.hammer and it hasn't moved I though about drilling a large hole thru it and melting with torch, It is stuck from top to bottom looks like.

It might have dry sleeves in it if it is like the 641 Powermaster i did. Nothing a welder and a cooler of dry ice didn't fix!

The Ford 3 cylinder diesels do not have sleeves unless dry sleeves were installed to repair a damaged cylinder. Also if I remember right the piston will not come out the bottom end. They have to come out the top. That would not stop you from driving the piston down and then honing the cylinder to clean it up a bit, and then driving it out the top. In the worst case break the piston up, sometimes that is the easiest when you can still get the pistons.

Finally got it, Drilled two inch hole through piston and started chipping away working from center toward cyl. wall
