This is probably a dumb question but I'm just wondering if anyone knows how allis came up with the names for their models. For example the model u was started in production in 1929 but then they made the model a in 1936. And the wc started production in 1933. So for there letter series how did they decide what to name each model?

I would guess the U came from the United tractor and the UC is Model U Cultivator tractor. W comes after U for the WC? Pretty wild guess huh?

Don't forget the Gleaner combines. They read like alphabet soup.PT, A, R, NR, E, F, J, H, T, S, and P-80. Then A/R/B, T, C, E, F, G, K, M, L, N, R, C, A, and now S. Did I forget any?

The WD45 was never rated or tested at 45 HP.
