The FMJ mag that I was fixing had lost the plastic timing
disc that is on the large gear. Jim Palmer, Sr. told me to
look for a timing mark on the housing. It is a raised,
rectangular part of the housing cover (not the round
cover with the places for the plug wires).
When I got the mag together, it produced a bright
white spark and I am not man enough to grab the
plug wire to check it out. :>)
Hope this might help out the next one putting a
mag back together.
I am still learning something all the time
Thanks to Jim, Sr.

I should have added this. Put the chamfered edge of the small steel
gear staight up, put the rotor on the shaft and line up the rotor
with that raised place in the plastic,(it will be on the rotor end of
the housing.
