On the back of my D-17 SIV there are 2 female hydraulic coupings on the right side(facing the back),there are 2 holes in sheet metal on left side.On other D-17 SerIV's I have seen 2 female hydraulic couplings plumbed in on both sides.
I have only used one side for the rotary mower.I replaced one on the far right side so it will match my hose end.Is the other one that I have for a "Return" or will it lift another cylinder at the same time? The other sets I have seen on other tractors,Are they for fluid to flow both ways or are they "Returns" for proper Two way hydraulics?
Sorry I do not mean to make an easy question difficult.I have never worked with 2 way hydraulics., everything I worked only had single acting hydraulics.

Thanks for any help ahead of time

The two you have on the right side is for a two way cylinder. The other tractors you have seen with another two on the left is a second remote for a second two way cylinder. Sounds like you are using a one way cylinder and that is fine.

We do the samething with our 7000 to run the batwing mower. It has three - one way cylinders. We tied into the 3pt hose to power the third cylinder.
