I was at our local AGCO dealer yesterday, and was told that you can no longer get a nelson muffler anymore. They have a stanley muffler that looks like the nelson. Have any of you used these mufflers? I was wondering if they sound like the old nelson or not. For the price they want for it would be nice to know. Thanks

Stanley mufflers are not as long lasting as the Nelson. They are also louder than the Nelson. Shop around. Most farm supply stores have them.

We sell a lot of the Stanley mufflers, and yes the sound is a little different but of the price they are a good muffler. would most likley be the last one you would have to install on your tractor. http://www.djstractorparts.intuitwebsites.com - www.djstractorparts.intuitwebsites.com Hve a lot more than our listed on our site, so if you don't see the one you need give me a call 734-320-3470.

The Stanley mufflers just don't sound the same. Walker was still making original style/sound mufflers last I knew.

Are you taking about the original style ones that use the bolt holes in the manifold?

I put a Stanley on my D17 back in 1993 and it's had a 3 more since then. Back in 1992 I put a Nelson on Dad's D17 and it's still there. Dad's D17 see more work time as it has a loader but mine does raking and I used to disc with it. Nelson is tough to beat and might be worth thr extra money if it's a tractor you use.
