I know where there is a gleaner F with a diesel and a K which I think is a diesel as well. Bother have been parked but I know the K still runs. I was wondering what engines these might have been for I thought they might work on a Allis tractor. any info appreciated.

F Diesel would be the 301 like 180, 185, 190. I don't think many K's were diesel (if any).

Only the K2 had a diesel option instead of the Chevrolet engine. If diesel, it was the 200 CID engine like in a 6060 70 or 80. DOn't know how much hp it had in the combine or exactly how it was set up...like whether it was intercooled or not. Newer F's (like F2 and F3) I think also had the 200 CID diesel insead of the 301. I would guess the engine in the F sized combine was more like the 6080 while the K2 diesel was more like a 6060. I don't have Norm's book here with me or I could tell you exactly.

Thanks for the info. I just wondered for I thought a newer style engine would be a better choice engine then the old buda engine, that's if the bolt pattern is compatible.
