Hoping someone can help. I purchased a WD a few weeks ago in rough shape. I got her running so time to move to the bad front spindle. I have an extra whole front support that came with the tractor so I thought the easiest corse of action would be to change the whole horizontal spindle and block assembly. According to the manual all that was needed was to remove the cap screw, washer, shims and spindle block retaining screw - no luck couldnt get it off. Next I decided to just take off the one horizontal spindle by removing the retaining pin and using a puller. again no luck.
Questions - to remove whole horizontial spindle block assemble is there something else I need to remove?  Is there another trick to remove the horizontal spindle itself?

Are you trying to remove the steering box as well?

no I was hoping to just remove the whole spindle block or just one horizontal spindle to keep it simple if thats possible.

My guess would be that the main shaft going down through the spindle block is mushroomed over a little on the bottom end, or the shaft is rusted/frozen to the spindle block.
It may be easier to take the steering box off with the spindles, so you can flip the whole assembly upside down and work on it that way.

Thanks - I was hoping to avoid removing the steering box as a whole. I could replace with the spaire I have but didnt want to get into that. The spindles I am trying to remove are currently on my spaire.

I am thinking the spindle block is froze to the shaft but want to make sure there isn't another nut someplace I need to take off.
