I've got a WD that I split awhile back to replace the bronze handclutch yoke, now when I release the handclutch lever, the lever falls all the way forward and something grinds inside.  I've had a few of these tractors apart, but obviously I overlooked something on this one.  Any ideas?

If I remember right the pins that sets in the forks are not centered, so if pins are to the front the lever will lay farther forward.   MACK

Anybody ever had any luck replacing the yoke without splitting the tractor?

mike check the snap ring on the input shaft if it is not on there it will let the hand clutch pack to travel to far forward and will try to engage the clutch or make a grinding noise maybe this will help dudley.

You can replace the yoke without splitting the tractor,   what dudley says makes sense too, check the end play on the clutch assy by moveing the lever with the cover off.  HTH
