Had a little discussion with a friend yesterday, He was telling me about the Pea harvester that he used to run. He said they had three. two were on AC c's and one was on a B. Hume made the harvester and they turned the seat,clutch and break peddles around also they changed the transmission so they had 3 backwards and 1 forward gear. the tractor always went backwards.

I have never seen one of these does anyone have pictures or now anything about these?

I have a 1940's film about Pea Harvesting in Wisconsin. Shows a either a B or a C that was setup with a big windrower. Everything was turned around just at you said and the tractor did go backwards! :) When I get the chance I will put it up.

We used to drag peas off the trucks coming by when I was a kid growing up in WI, mid 50's. They were headed to the canning factory. I never understood, when my brothers told me that, why they were taking peas to a cannon factory!!! LOL!!!

They use to cut them in the field and then wind row them and load to take to a stationary pea binder to separate the pods/peas from the rest. seems times changed and just like a combine for grain now they are done in one operation.

Couple farms around here grew peas a few years, bought them from field for $5 for a 5 gallon bucket right off the combine.

We had a canning factory in Lineboro and my family dealership supplied the harvesters. I own the warehouse that my grandfather had the pea harvester parts in and there are some parts and stuff in it. I just need to take the time to sort through it. Dad said he remembers them but he didn't work on them.
