Personally, I would be looking for a dipstick that fit my Series 1 D17 Diesel !!!

Not all dipsticks are the same.  I would definitely get one that was made for that tractor.

Maybe someone on here who has a series 1 diesel can measure theirs and report back on the length?

If you can wait until tonight, I'll measure mine. On lunch at work now...

I'd have to look in the manual to be sure, but I think it's 8qts that it holds.

I checked my d17d and my WD45G and the dipsticks seem to nearly identical 9-1/2 inches
from the stop to end.

If I did this right you should see two photos of two different dipsticks.  The one that says full (the bottom one) is from a WD and the other is from a D17D.  One of the pics works, the other i still in a link format.

I measured my series 1 diesel dipstick. It's 9 3/4 inches to the top of the inside of the cap from the tip. The add line is 1 9/16 from the bottom and the full line is 2 3/16.
