| If it was mine I would take it off, straiten it then reuse the steering arm. Actually I would try straitening it without taking it off but it would be easier with it off. now for the tie rod end, I have fixed them before to but would advise just to find another. |

Actually I am not sure if it would be easier off or not junkman, if you consider the time to get that thing off it huge!!! I would apply a little heat right at the bend, and a pipe wrench with the teeth ground off, so as to not leave so many marks, I don't think you could get a cresent wrench in there right. My best guess even with building a spacer back up is a couple hours and it's straight, and even if you don't get it perfect, that's what the ball joint is for.

Crap Mike! I can't let one project slip by you, or Tony C for that matter. I have putting that 3 point together, on my highest priority list this summer. I will be posting pics of the 3 point install on this forum, with your name in the subject line this summer, fer sure :)
Not sure if I did the bending to the steering arm, or if it was kinda already done, but was discing my wife's round pen she uses for working her horses, just to loosen the hard pan, in a tight radius yesterday. She wanted it turned up, deeply, so I was digging some deep trenches with the disc, going slow in 1st gear. Ultimately though those trenches were the proverbial straw. All of a sudden both tires were pointed in opposite directions. My first and only clue things were amiss. :) Eldon has already stepped up with a used, but probably better than NOS replacement. Tony has a Tie Rod on its way and I am ready to tackle it. Wish me luck. |
