Thanks for all the replies to my other post. Great info. How does one tell which engine is on your model b? I've looked and either I'm not searching right or just not getting it. can anyone shed some light or crack me along side the head to make me understand. Depending on the year it's either a BE or CE motor. The BE motors have the serial # on the back in the center above the bell housing, kind of hard to see sometimes. The CE has the serial # on the left side flange where it bolts to the bell housing, very easy to see unless it's covered in rust or grease. Ok next question on the engines. Since the displacement on the engines changed with models and the bore i think changed to. John, that is interesting, we had a discussion about serial # placement a while back because I have a CE engine with the # on the back where the BE should have it.
