Well fellas we got the "C" up and running and last I got a CA up and running.... We don't have the "chargers" hooked up on these tractors so I guess that is next. We discovered that the Carb off the C was the trouble. We took one off another tractor and it started....The carb that did not work was cleaned and gone over but no luck. Is there something we missed? I am thinking about taking it to Sandy Lake to see if they can find anything wrong with it.... Anyway we are getting closer to moving a couple of tractors off work... | Rich Im sure sandy lake can fix it, soaking in carb cleaner may take care of it if its been sitting a long time. |

There are two jets at the bottom of the carb that have to be cleaned with a very fine wire. I still remember Pop putting them on newspaper so he could see the junk that came out. Remember they were relatively new then. Good Luck! Bill Long

Thanks Bill.... How hard would it be if I do it myself? I have some fine brushes and wire to clean it with. and what kind of solvent would you soak it in?

Actually they can't be all that hard to clean and put back together or I wouldn't be able to do several every year. You reall need a gallon of carburetor cleaner. The stuff in the spray would be best to save back to get stuborn grease off you fingers (IMHO) The gallon cans they have now have a basket to load the pieces in to let down into the cleaner. It would also be best to boil the carbuetor in water before attempting to remove the brass jets then remove them when still warm. Make sure you have the correct screwdrive blade to remove the main jet. Any screwdriver blades that I have bought that has the correct thickness was to wide and I ground the sides to get it to fit thru the threads. It is also best to have a nut driver the correct size to remove the feeder tube in the carburetor throat.
 This might be of help.
Also I have never measured the float on these small Zenith Carburetors. I have always eye balled them parallel. My first repair manual gave the measurments but also provided this picture.
