I am looking at a 5040 tractor.  The engine runs well, the sheet metal is good and the tires are also good.  What are these little tractors selling for in your markets?  Thanks.

Trying to be a good Forum member, I did a search and did not find the answer to my question.

I just found the price of several of these for sale on Tractor Data.  People must like these little tractors.  The prices are consistent with those given by a friend this afternoon.

They are popular little tractors. Not many around here and if one sells it commands a premium price. They seem to be more in demand that the smaller and larger models of that series. BTW good to see you on the forum. I have not been in Utah since I was at Hill AFB several years back. Beautiful country out there.

I was going through a small town near here earlier this year and spotted a couple of Allis tractors.  There was a 190 and a 5040.  In talking with the elderly gentlemen he said he had worked for a local Allis dealer for about 25 years before they closed.  He had a B in his shop he was working on for someone.  I asked about the 5040 and I think he said he was asking $4500 for it.

The second farm down the road from us has a 5050. Looks pretty beat, but he uses it everyday...

Went to an auction a couple years ago and there was a pristine 5040 that went for $5000.  I was sorta thinking it would go cheaper due to where it was built.

I do not know how many were made, I will try to verify later, but, they were made in Brasov Romania. They were/are very nimble, the only tractor I ever ALMOST rolled. I liked the power for it's size !!!

They are good machines.  I've owned one for just over a month now.  They are very easy on fuel and with a good hot battery start easy.  The Cat II 3pt is nice as well as the set or remotes that are standard.  The 12 speed would be excellent for pulling a tiller.
