The theards are shot for my exhaust manifold, anybody have any suggestions. So far no luck on a two inch tap to try and get what threads left cleaned up.

Use thread cutting oil on tap. If that don't work make a plate with 4 holes then drill and tap 4 holes to match plate in top of manifold. Weld a 2" pipe in plate goung into manifold as far as possible. Bolt to manifold and put muffler onto pipe.  MACK

Sounds like a good Idea but this one does not have the 4 holes.  An to make things worse it appears to be just a bit smaller than 2 inch.

Don't fully under stand problem but could you brase a pipe coupling on to mainfold.

I agree, I have a crap manifold here on my D17 with the threaded hole, or at least it used to have one.   I cut off the broken part, found a black pipe fitting with the same threaded hole, and tried to weld it on but the cast was so deteriorated, it kept falling apart.   So I brazed it on just to put a muffler on it to get it running to fix all the other issues.   That was two years ago and it is still holding together fine.   Not the prettiest thing, but it's my loader tractor, not a showpiece.
