ok posted while back about wd 45 our first resoration complete overhaul ect. ect. Thought we had a starter problem as didnt want to turn over very well. Took all good advice on here had starter rebuilt and put on heavier battery cables. The result was some better but not great. Six volt system will turn over like crazy with no plugs in. I know i shouldnt have but finally gave it a pull to see if could turn over fast enough to fire or start. didnt seem to fire at all pulled plugs looked bone dry. Is the only timeing issue from camshft to crankshaft because im sure that one is right? The head and valves were done at local machine shop. I tried squirting gas directly in carb to see if could get gas to plugs but wasnt turning very fast to tell for sure didnt fire anyway. Starting to second guess myself even though went by the book to a tee. Dont want this to be mylast restoration as I have several more orange ones waiting there turn. Thanks for any suggestions.

Crank to cam is the major one. Seems like the gov gear has a mark too, but I don't know for sure. I would double check your ignition timing. Put #1 on TDC compression stroke and install the dist pointing at #1 tower. I always "find" a spark from there. Turn the switch on and rotate the dist body back and forth until you get a spart to jump from #1 wire. The instant it sparks, tighten the dist down. The timing will be close enough to start the engine.

have you tried 12 volts?

you might have the distributor 180 degrees out... its easy to do. I did with the last one.
