First time it ever happened for me just setting over the winter. I have tried to explain how easy it is to prime the pump but it never seems to get across. I happend to have my camera with me so I took some pictures.

I disconnected the oil line to the head, pushed a hose over the fitting, ran the other end of the hose up thru the hood besice the oil filler, took a pump oil can and filled the the hose, let it set for less than five minutes, put the hose in a bucket and started the engine. As soon as I had a good flow which was right away, I shut the engine off and put the fitting back together.

The dirty looking oil is the liquid color stuff washing out of the hose.

If a picture's worth a thousand words, those three pics saved you a lot of typing. Such a simple thing to check. Thanks for the post.
