Hi:

My Model B vintage owner's manual specifies 20 weight oil for the transmission/axle. I can't find this weight anywhere. Is there a modern equivalent that will work. Also - here's the dumb question. Do I need the PTO engaged for the hydraulics to work? They don't work otherwise and I wonder if this is by design or something is wrong with my tractor.

The reason I ask is this - I have a Woods belly mower. If the PTO is engaged and the mower is spinning, the long belt will come off if I try to raise the mower. It would be nice if I could raise the mower without losing the belt. The belt is properly adjusted but I can't raise the mower ever unless I want to constantly be on my hand and knees on the wet grass.

I can raise the mower on my B without the belt coming off, maybe your belt could be a wee bit tighter.
