My buddy bought this at a auction today with help from don jr  and me talking him into buying it.   he asked me to drive it to his place for him.  He got a great price 14,500  a 8070 with 6200 hrs.  It was a fun ride with the a/c and radio.  I was impressed on the road speed it felt like way to short of a trip.

Wow I would rather have done the trip with that rather than the 3000 miles I did yesterday! Nice ride Kip!

Very nice looking machine. How was the ride going down the road? I've seen it posted on this forum that the tractor hops going down the road with the factory wheel base, and that is one of the reasons for moving the front axle forward. There also was an 8070 at an auction yesterday in La Grange, IN. Does anyone know what it brought? It was listed at 4000 hours w/duals.

Nice tractor, I would say it was a steal.

I would like to run a long wheel base tractor and see what they ride like. I have an 8050 and 8070 and they don't hop on the road or in the field and they ride very well versus anything comparable I have used.

It would seem the turning radius would be reduced by the longer wheel base.

Mismatch of tire sizes in 4WD mode is a bigger cause of hop independent of wheelbase. And that's adjusted by the tire pressures as well as a choice of tire sizes and tire wear.

Dana, how long did it take to go those 3000 miles?  6 hr?
