Just loose enough that when you pull the trip roller up by hand you should be able to pivot the moldboard back by hand. Is this a monoframe? On mine I had to disassemble the mechanism to clean it up enough so it would trip by hand. There are supposed to be washers on each side of the beam at the pivot but mine were just about completely worn away so I replaced them. Then I had to adjust the little coil trip spring pressure cause it tripped too easy. | The last monoframe plow I bought there are two trip mechanisms that have a bolt put into the mechanism, I am assuming this is to keep those moldboards from tripping. |
