Nothing a lot of sand blasting and some paint won't fix. They should pay me to take it.
I would have to cover it up to get it home.

Seen a kabota painted just like it the other day on craigs list. I would have bought it for it sold for 400 dollars. For that price I could have painted it. I don't think the ol boy that painted the allis knows how much he depreciated the value.

In the 1960's and 70's our local JD dealer had an A-C B series garden tractor painted green and yellow and used it to mow the lawn at the dealer because JD didn't have scrunt for a mower them days.  As for a matter of fact I am not impressed yet by them.  I will stick to the 1974 716H and the 1976 712H.

That may be factory. They were talking about a green 1026 on the Red Power site the other day that was factory painted green. Said it was used in military applications.

I sent them a message asking how much to strip the green and yellow and paint it AC orange, we'll see if they respond.
When I worked at the Ford tractor dealer in HS we painted a couple Ford 2000's olive drab and shipped them to Turkey to a US Air Force base.  Kind of hard to sand down a nice shiny blue tractor and paint it green, even if it is o d.

It did not COST me anything for him to paint it like that !  Might just be a dam good tractor under that paint .Easyer to repaint one then to have to buy a ton of parts for one all beat to %&^$ !

I wouldn't be scared of it and would love to have it if it was cheap but it's over 1,500 miles from me and my wife might have conniptions if I buy one more thing this year.

Gee, at first I was going to say, well he did a nice job painting it...but...after looking at all the pictures, yeesh...overspray on the tires, chipped black paint off the axles, etc., I'd be leary to bid on the tractor unless the reserve(min bid) is really, really low.
Sure makes me appreciate any all original, faded, chipped ORANGE tractor even more !

Many years ago, I think in the 60's, John Deere came up with the idea that you could buy a car in many different colors. So they started putting out JD lawn mowers in different colors. Didn't seem to last long.

Dusty, Most people who buy a JD want a green JD, I'm not surprised the off color JD lawn equipment wasn't very popular.  Humm, I wonder if anyone at AGCO ever thought about that?

Seems like it runs OK. Sounds a little ragged because those little Toyoshia engines(or whoever made them) are 2 cylinders. A lot smoother than the Yanmar 2 cylinders, though. Don't know why someone wanted to paint it all green like that. I always figured the reason JD came up with the green tractor/yellow rims paint scheme was so they wouldn't be such an eyesore for the neighbors when they were sitting outside broke down in the bushes, but would be easy enough to see the rims and not run over them while bush hogging.

Got a message back from the sellers;
Dear bcfmfarmer,

I guess since it is $ 1035.10 right now - then for $ 1035.11 - you can paint it any color you want.

Thanks for your question.

:)

early/mid seventies, the patio series. JD trying to sell to "suburbia" that did not want a tractor in town. I know dealers that repainted many white ones green just to sell them. Today they are extremely collectible.
I gave my brother the idea to paint some of his 7520's in the 4 color's, one set on a oak plaque sold for 6,000. He's done 6030's also.

One of my 2 riding mowers is a JD 210 which once belonged to my great uncle. 1985 model all original and still runs strong even after all I have done with it-it has impressed me. It could use a new coat of paint though and I have contemplated many times covering it in AC orange and cream. A few more examples like this and I might be forced to do just that to even the scales.

I see the auction ended without it reaching the reserve.  Wonder what it was?  I think they would have done better with it painted the correct color.  It will probably be back in the auction sometime.
