What is a high and low going price on a Waukesha B? what should I look 4 as far as being original? Anyone have some pictures? Any other imporatant info I should know before looking at one.

Did these tractor have a brass ID tag with the serial # on them?

I'm curious as to why your asking these questions... Yes, they had a brass ID tag, located underneath the steering column. There were lots of small parts too unique to list. Off the top of my head I can think of the throttle quadrant, Wheels, rear seat, grill, I could go on if I had my parts diagrams in front of me, but I'm at college and they're at home.

Supposed to have a serial number tag. There are a lot of little differences. The torque tube is not milled for the tool box so the toolbox is bent out at an angle for attaching to the torque tube. The brake handles should have a screw on Knob. The gear shift has a crook in it I believe. The throttle quadrant is different than others but I can't remember exactly how. Maybe someone else can correct me or fill in the blanks. I have no idea what the value might be. A few have been sold over the last few years but to tell you the truth I paid little attention to the pricing other than they brought less than I would have guessed. As Morton said they only look like a regular ole B with a flathead engine. There are actualy a bunch of minor to major differances between them and later the production Bs. The more of the correct parts it retains the more it would be worth to someone who wants a correct tractor. Dale Haymaker would be a good person to call first as he owns one. |

| The throttle quadrant has Hi/Low printed on it and is shaped a little differently to accommodate the words. It is mounted halfway up the post like the very early regular production B's. |

Seen prices from around $2k (minus the Waukesha engine) to asking $12k. Seen sold at $7k or thereabouts. Some find them cheap, they are the best finds. | I have one of them, Yes the fenders are flat sheetmetal framed angle iron, yes the torgue tube is as said above, front wishbone is different, rear hubs are different as is the radiator and cowling and hood, and the drawbar. Thats just a start. The front wheels and hubs resemble an unstyled WC, but are smaller. I believe the Waukesha engine is a FC model. Mine is even different than most in that it has 28" wheels 9" wide rear tires with real large clamps from the wheel center to the wheel thease clamps even have AM casting numbers on them, and the front wishbone on mine is even different still from the others. Exciting to even have one. |
