Im getting ready to paint my D14 and D19 tractors. I am thinking about using agco Persian orange 2 for both of them because I like the brighter orange. First is this paint any good? Second I'm going to be using a $60 dollar paint mask with my eyes covered and as most as the rest of my body I can get cover, is there anything harmful in agco's paint, primer or reducer? I'm not going to use hardener. Will the tractors still look good? I'm going to paint it mostly outside or in the shop with lots of air movement. I really appreciate anything you have to say.

Also is there any thing you can do after you done to get the toxins from the paint out of your system. like any kinds of foods to eat, take a shower etc.

Sounds like your pretty well prepared and doing everthing you can without going to a full airfed mask hood, just check make and sure your mask is working all the time,if its a true charcoal you shouldn't smell any paint, if you do,check your mask is sealing right and the valves aren't dirty ,these can get alot of sweat in them and gum them up.All solvent paints are toxic to a degree, don't suck it up if you don't have to.If you feel like crap after painting best way to get rid of toxins is to drink lots ofresh water, hope this helps

The hardener is where most of the worst toxins are. The problem with not using hardener with enamel is it takes a lot longer to dry. Consider an air fed mask.

Hi AC.
To answer your question about flushing the toxins, yes you can drink lots of WHITE grapefruit juice.
It is the DRANO to your lymph system as Drano is to your house sink drains.
If you have a headache that you can't get rid of with the otc asparins, etc, it is a toxin headache that you get rid of with white grapefruit juice.
The lymph system is the waste system drain of the cells of your body. Get that opened up, your body can then flush like it needs to.
I would start drinking a half gallon/day to get used to it, then work up to a gallon before you paint. Half gallon during morning when you get thirsty and same in afternoon/evening.
To tell when your system is clean, after you drink a glass,(16 ozs.), in about 5 minutes or less-you have to go empty your bladder. This will probably happen first.
Keep drinking it to saturate your body but cut down some so that it doesn't taste good to you. When it doesn't taste good, your body is telling you that it has had enough-for now.
You can start drinking it again in a week or so, or when it tastes good again.
And as was said earlier, drink plenty of water but get you lymph system cleaned out first for the toxins to have a place to go instead of being recirculated.
P.S. Don't be surprised if you slim down in the waist, hips and thighs.
If you want, you can also add in apple. orange, grape, and cranberry to your drinking menu. Just keep your stomach full of liquid to trick it into thinking that it's not hungry.
A mix of liquified lemons via a blender, 2 large or 4 small, full of water with about 3-4 tblspns of pure maple syrup will help and/or clear the head and sinuses with or without a cold/flu. Add ground red pepper(cayenne) to this amount, tsp to start to open up the blood vessels to get this mix going thru the body. The syrup tells the body that it's not hungry. You can also add cream of tartar to this mix and have a very potent "medicine" to take care of colds, bronchitis, respitory challenges, etc. Liquified celery also clears plugged lungs. Buy a bunch at the store and clean them all and put the whole thing, leaves and all, through the blender. Add a 40+ oz. can of tomato juice in place of water if you want.
A good "toddy' that I like to make is Welch's grape juice with about 2 tblspns of Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar to a glass, 16ozs. The grape juice will also help your lungs.
This is my usual routine during the fall and winter months and needless to say that I don't get sick at all. I just catch it at the beginning and hit it with the juices and then the lemon mix.

That should be this, .... "cut down some so that it doesn't NOT taste good to you". You want to have it taste good to you all of the time.

I have never used AGCO paint except for a couple touch up spray bombs so I reserve comment on the paint. For a couple paint jobs w/o hardener it sounds like you will be protected well enough to me. Makes sure the mask fits well and shave every morning while using it.

In my experience it's hard to find better paint than AGCO sells, your D19 should be PO2 anyway, the D14 will look sharp PO2 also, are you going to paint them both with creme wheels?

There are toxic chemicals in all paint, I haven't used hardeners and I think my paint jobs have always turned out well and have lasted. I have a WD45 that I painted with AGCO  PO2 in 1983, I touched it up with a spray can from AGCO before taking it to a show last summer and it was a perfect match.

Follow the advise about safety and you should be ok. I painted my "tractor hauling" trailer last fall and I just used paper "particle, dust" masks. I've done that several times in the past. I won't do it again, even painting outside my nosehairs were orange. If i was using hardener I probably wouldn't be here today.

Looking forward to seeing them, just remember, only one person has to be satisfied with how they turn out. LOL

doing any paint job like that is a waste of time without hardener, not so much in slowing drying without it but it will fade out like a cheap spray can from fleet farm, use a sas or 3m paint mask, and don't worry about flushing your system,i've painted for 25 years with just a sas mask

ACscott--- I have painted lots of tractors, most colors and have switched to a supply air system and really like it , they are not that expensive they make painting much safer. Cover everything else and take a shower after .

I've switched to a SAS also.  Gloves, a full paint hood and a suit.  Keep the bad stuff out.  A $400-$500 SAS is chump change when compared to your health.
