Hi all,
Looking at buying a tidy "C" for restoration. I am in Australia, (as you can see by the username). I have Masseys in my blood, but this thing is neat, and complete, so it looks like a good project to me.
Question is, were any of these tractors assembled in either Australia or England? This one has "Lucas" electrical equipment, (starter and gen.), but not sure about the magneto. If it was U.S.A. built, wouldn't it have "Delco" electrics? It does have a "marvel" carbi, though. Serial no. is 068568.

   Any help would be appreciated,
                                  thanks from Evan, (down under).

I saw your pictures on YT , and the generator mounted with the long bolts and nuts, is not orignal equipment. The mag has been modified to a battery ignition. It looks like a made in the USA. Allis C.

Hi,
thanks for the info. I'm not up with magnetos, as I'm a diesel fitter by trade. So I gather the maggi is probably stuffed cause it's got that coil piggy-backing it?? Are they usually repairable, or "throw away" items?
       Evan.

They can be rebuilt or get a rebuilt one and use yours for the core charge.

did you buy that tractor ?- is the motor stuck ? if not change the oil & filter - put some new spark plugs in- looks like you need plug wires too- check the fuel tank for crud -hook up  a battery - check for spark   I bet it will fire up !  I have converted severl F-M. magnetos to external coils .  that looks like  whats been done  to that lucas mag. of yours. get it running first then see what needs fixing or replaced. look at other a/c tractors see if thay have Lucas mags.- generators-ect.-6 or 12 volt keep us posted

Allis didn't use a 0 in front of serial numbers, at least not USA made letter models. That O should be a C to identify the model. If it is a 0 they may have done that in English production??? If B's were put together in England with the Lucas electrical parts, I don't know why they wouldn't have built C's the same way.
