I split an 8050 that had hyd oil running out of clutch housing  found input seal psuhed out seal was damaged badly whoever installed it Is there any chance of excess back pressure on that seal or in trans to cause seal to pop out  Is there anything else to check before I put back together    Gary  920 253 8192

Gary there is a 1/2 inch elbow on the transmission that has metal mess init to let air in and keep the dust out may want to check and see if that is choked up Niel

Be extremely sure the big nut behind that seal retainer hasn't worked loose !!! If it seems to be OK, I'd personally put a stake mark in the nut at the keyway to prevent it from ever coming loose. The damage from that nut backing off is catastrophic !!...Also, wrap the sharp splines on the input shaft like a barber pole starting at the rear and spiroling forward with minimal overlap with black electrical tape to prevent cutting the new seal when installing it. Use some light oil to lube the tape when installing the seal.

Ditto to what the Dr. says.Been there done that. This is a power shift tractor-right?Power director models have a seal that can leak also.It needs to be loc-tited in the bore.

Mine did it, split the tractor did input seal and rear main, new torque limiter, and on occasion it still leaks.  10-4 on the loctite.
