I took all (4) of the axle stub shafts off a few months ago to put new bearings in and give them a coat of paint.  Two have zerks in the outer cap and two have zerks on the backside of the hub.  I did not take notes and now I cannot remeber which went on the main frame and which went on the wings.  Could somone shed some light on this for me?  Mike

Kind of a question? any chance one set is four bolt and one set is six bolt? my IH cult is that way so thought maybe the AC was too.

Michael WI, - sounds like something I would do also.  You might look to see if there is a close shovel on either side of the hubs?  Perhaps, they mounted the hubs in such a way as to minimim dirt being thrown towards the grease zerk.  If so, then if the hub has a grease zerk on the outer side, the closest shovel to that hub would be positioned next to the inner side of the hub & visa versa.  That is just my guess??   I have one that I can look at more closely tomorrow and let you know if I see otherwise.

Hubs with zerks on the backside would go on the wings so you can grease with wings folded up.

Why do today what you can put off til tomorrow.
