Only the distilate tractors had the holes. Yes there are some without the holes.

OK now y'all gots me confused. Does that mean that if I can find a starting tank for mine that it will run off of distillate? Would I have to make any modifications to mine? Is the distillate model harder to find than the non distillate?

Didn't mean to hijack this post it just got me thinkin.

New starter tanks are being made. If you have the original low compression engine, it would run OK. Most engines that have been worked on in the last 30 years would likely have a higher compression ratio. I never knew of a gas unstyled WC. I would think the hoods without the starter tank hole would be hard to find.

I've never seen an unstyled WC without a starter tank or at least the mounting holes. I doubt your WC is still low compression, it more than likely has been overhauled at some time in it's life and upgraded with WD pistons. Another thing, your exhaust manifold may not be the original cold fuel one.
