I hear ya Coke. I havent seen many dozers that were thoroughly redone. Looks like heavy duty work, and damn good work too.

Dan, looks real good, looks like a fresh air shop. Looks like you upgraded from the original Lanova style engine to a 6000. Is that the engine that came with it? I haven't seen any comments yet about the left track being on backwards, but that's an easy fix. LOOKS GOOD,  GETTER DONE and get some pictures up

thanks for all the input. Yes Steve there are projects in the background. Whats left of a1952 OC3 & a1948 Montgomery Wards Twin Row.  Yes it is a 7000 series engine i bought from a member. It did have the Lanova engine in it. Thanks AC Mel for pointing out the track. sometimes i can be staring at something and still not see it. Have had some clearence problems with the fan,oil filter and starter. All the grosser bolts are shot. Can i turn them around or does the track need to be turned around? Thanks again Danny

Danny, some of those clearence problems are just the nature of the beast. I do know that on the pusher fan there is a spacer on the hub that is not used on a puller fan. (or vise versa). Scince your using a different engine, maybe you have a different fan? (something to double check). On the track just pull the master pin and turn the chain assembly around ( and that might not be as easy as it sounds if the master pin is uncoopertive). In the big scheme of things it's probably not that important. The track pad is designed to clean off better in the other direction. That side will just clean off better when your in reverse. Heck, we had a Caterpillar friend that got a new undercarrige installed at his Cat dealer ( both tracks backwards) After they figured it out he left it like that just so he could pick on them, wouldn't let them fix it. The dealership finally had to sneak in his yard when he was on vacation and change them. Put some more pictures up of some of those clearance problems, sombody will have some answers(besides we all like pictures) Mel

you can not just swap the pads on the chains as the bolts are different spacing front to back. the track is designed to "close" when the track comes around and when the track digs in and slips the dirt cannot get in between the tracks. when it is backwards, dirt can get between the tracks and if a rock gets in there as it closes it can bend or break the pad. excellant restoration. i am hoping mine looks like that someday, especially with the ripper. have been looking but not finding. keep the pics coming.
