Is there a plug on the front bolster of the D-17 to drain the fluid?  I was wanting to drain it and replace it with new.  Thanks

Yup, on the right side toward the rear.

If it's like mine, it will
take some power to break it loose.
I used a 3/4" drive 6 point socket; be sure to have the socket
on nice and square so you don't round off the corners of the plug's head.
