We decided to see how things looked at the farm yesterday, the driveway was full of snow so we had to walk in from the road. It will need a few real warm days to melt yet. We drove several miles around up there and all the ditches are still full of snow, all that water still needs to flow north up the Red River, best if it doesn't melt too fast. Wow, that's some real contrast. It was in the low 70's yesterday and we set a record of 86 today in Des Moines. | We have to drive 150 miles to get there from where we live, we don't get there too often in the winter. I was just looking at river and watershed maps for that area and I'm not sure just where the exact line is for flowing north to Hudson Bay or south to the Gulf of Mexico. Just a couple miles east is the Pomme de Terre river that flows into the Minnesota river and south, and just a couple miles west is the Mustinka which flows west to the Red and north. We're pretty much right in the middle. |

It was 84 here yesterday and 70 this morning but by noon it started raining then a bit of snow. We've only had 2/10 inch of rain in March and about 2" since the first of the year. Another forest fire north of me, grass fires ne of me. We are dry, dry, dry but go 20 miles west and the snow is 10 to 12 feet deep at 10,000 ft. When it melts, we may have more water then we know what to do with. Every year is different!

| All this snow is a long way from Canada, if you look at a map just go about 20 miles into MN from where SD and ND meet Minnesota. Barrett or Elbow Lake are the towns to look for. |
