I stopped by a guys house today that I had been trying to buy a UC with a busted block from for several years. He wouldnt sell it because his father had bought it new. I hadnt talked with him in about a year and I was in the area today so I stopped by.
He sold it to a scrapper a few weeks ago according to his wife. I AM JUST SICK!!!!!!

Thats just bad news for sure. Why do people do things like that?   Rather than sell or give it to someone that would save it.........

Maybe the scrapper still has it and you could get it from him.  Here that is quite a common thing, in fact, some scrappers know these are collector tractors and will set them aside for sale. I've bought several that way.

Been there done that and it sucks.  Some of the scrappers in OK won't sell you anything after it gets on there lot.  Tried with no luck.

I know the sick feeling you have. I had a similiar thing happen to me with a D-12 Series III High Crop.  In my case the tractor survived and is restored but officially its a stolen tractor but no one pressed charges.

been there, done , so you're not alone.
Just wasn't meant to be,gotta move on.

Neighbour 15 minutes away , has a tractor I'd like, been sitting 20 years+,trees growing THROUGH it,refuses to sell except for 4x what it might be worth if truly restored.I check every few months, same old story, have left name and number though everyone local knows me...still no call. He's gotta be 85+ now...the old coot wants his money and that's it.
I'm waiting for the call from the daughter to haul all the junk away(tractor included) maybe 3 days after he passes away.Place is a disaster, I've seen better kept scrapyards!

Oh,well..like I said gotta move on.In the meantime, print up some cards with your name and number, drop them off .Be sure to boldy say will pay 15%OVER scrap prices. Seems money talks these days.

With iron price this high all old tractors and implements are in grave danager.  In the last few weeks I've heard all sort of terror stories of things going to the top of the iron pile.
