hi i was just wondering if all wd 45 came with power steering or just the later models?  And does any one know of any for sale in new york?

You could get PS from the factory, but it was an option and not all had it. D19 was the first AC tractor to offer PS as standard equipment.

I don't think it was available as an option until 1956. There are a lot of earlier models including WD's that have had the factory PS added.

can you add powersteering to the tractor if it doesnt have it?

Yes but if you want factory type it's not cheap, usually see them for around $500 or more.

There are other options if you want power steering but don't need the "factory" set up.  CHAR-LYNN units have been around for decades and are available new or used.

I bought a setup just like this for $500 for my WD.
You will think you are on a different tractor.
Even comes with a double pulley. A new pulley is worth about $200.
Char-Lynn torque generator is about $500.
The mounting brackets are there also plus the bent actuator rod that goes around the torque generator.

Last summer at the Amana Ia show, someone had everything needed to put P/S on a WD45 and they were asking $1000 for it all.

I bought a complete factory unit form Iklenborg Salvage in Aplington IA for $500 dollars about 6 years ago.
