Even with a bad rear, isn't that a bit cheap for a tractor that size?

Not really, but thats my opinion ; you can get a decent running and moving one for that ;  if its that low houred on an overhaul I,d try to get the rear end put back together and run it ; used parts are around very reasonable

Ask OlDoug about a 190 with a bad rear end and how cheap of a fix it isn't.

bought a gas 190xt with snap coupler 2 years ago for 2100. its in excellent running shape with good tires and good original paint. wasnt beat up at all. took off old exhaust stack and put a 4 food chrome one on and now it looks like a beast.

I saw a used one for 1900 dollars once that wasn't in good shape at all. I have seen several running with claims of being in good shape for 3000 to 3500 dollars. I have seen some outrageously high too. I am a bit skeptical of an overhaul and paint job (even a bad paint job) for 3000 dollars though. The engine kit alone is around a 1000 dollars. Maybe it is good, and maybe it is bad. Possibly someone is trying to cut the losses by selling it for what they have in it.

I bought my 65 XT 3pt gas for $1000. They said it had a rod knocking but when I got it running sounds like it's under the valve cover plus one cyl. is dead. I still think I got it cheap. My buddy is wanting to sale his 200 that has a couple gears that pop out but stay in with strap and pto made a noise and quit working. Hyd. keeps getting contaminated and it makes the spool stick on the pump then you loose steering and PD pressure unless you deadhead the remotes or the 3pt. Real good engine though he wants $1800 for it.
