Auction prices and be strange at best....went to a consignment sale today...bought some cherry hardwood flooring for my sisters, boxes of AGCO bolts, shoulder lug bolts(wheel bolts front and back on WC/WD's) and an amish sulky(I'll post pics tomorrow).....there was a David Brown tractor there from our local high school, TONS of hours, decent turf tires, smoked blue terribly, had a nice full hydraulic Case loader on it....brought 3100.00....

Funny how that is huh? Went to a sale once and saw 2 Amish men bid one of those hand mowers that can be bought new at Menards for $90 all the way up to $165. Go figure...

Been to a few sales near to us, price on simple tools as saws and chisels were nuts, could buy better new for half, tractors lagged at the sales they would barely bring a decent price until the last year then you cannot touch one for less than close to what is considered high retail.  I gave up on running gears or other equipment, saw a two bottom cat II worn to a frazzle and sold for more than I can buy one refurbed at the dealer down the road, a four bottom pull type JD brought $3500 and it needed tire, pivot bushings, at least a grand worth of repair.

I watched a stuck Farmall C that needed tires sell for $750 last summer at my neighbor's farm auction. I wanted to buy it and fix it up, but not for that price... then I found my Allis B for $200 less. And no stuck engine!
