I need a manifold. Should I by a new remanufactured one or look for a use one ?

Our WD has the WD45 manifold and carb on it, and it runs very lean in the cold weather. Dad thinks with the original manifold and carb, that problem would be mostly solved. The after market manifolds are the same for either engine, but the originals were definitely different-including the carb.

I bought a new one about 20 years ago. I had to grind off the back edge to clear the air cleaner but it has worked great ever since. Back then I didn't have access to all these guys that part things out though. If you buy a used one, figure on having it milled flat before you mount it up.

Put a new one on my in-law's 53 wd. Works great. i thought about a used one but 60 yrs of heating and cooling, hidden cracks, warping, etc... I didn't want to take the chance of getting a bad one.

Wood,

I have a verry nice WD45 manifold, used but not to old from a core engine I took apart. I blasted it and painted it with some nice exhaust paint after I tapped the holes and set it up in a mill and surfaced it. Can't tell it from a new one except a little carbon in the exhaust runners.

I'd sell it for $75 shipped to you if you're interested.
