To answer your question about other hobbies. Fishing 02 dodge diesel (trying for 500 rwhp) 83 dodge w250 AC WC Case 224 (in the middle of resto)
Cub cadet 124 (GT tractor pulls)
and did I mention fishing?

I am the head wine maker @ Hunt Country Vineyards (family business) My wife and I started a produce business (hence the G's) and are soon-to-be certified organic, Volunteer firefighter (both of us) I drag race my 95 LT1 caprice Just had our first son, William, 1/1/11 we have 2 dogs, 4 laying hens, and we raise and sell pasture raised (soon to be organic) chickens And some other stuff.. Neat! I didn't know you could make anything from corn cobs. Are they strong like wood, or? I guess I picture a soft corn cob like when I'm eating from it, not once it's dried. How much do you want for your pens? Might be interested in the strange ones (like the corn cob, could you tell? LOL) What else do you make them out of? We have an old guy that stops in to our work (custom cabinet shop) from time to time to visit and show us what he's up to. He's 90 and still making some small stuff, slowly mind you, but still at it! Anyway he brought his son not to long ago who recently took up turning small stuff (Christmas tree ornaments, eggs, small bowls, etc...) One of the cool things I liked was that he had turned some ornaments and eggs from Lilac bush "trunks". They have bright purple stripes in them like the purple of the lilac flower! Very neat. The hard part is finding old enough lilac's to get a chunk out of, and then they tend to be rotten, etc... in the middle. So finding a good chunk is hard. So anyone cutting down old lilac bushes, save the bigger chunks of the "trunk". Oh, forgot to add what I do. Woodworking obviously. As well as restore my tractors. Putting up a garage this summer here so I can bring one out to actually work on! Yah! I used to do some artistic painting, but have not done that in years, no time. Bob Ross style, I'm sure you've seen him on PBS... the guy with the afro that makes "happy little trees, clouds,"... etc.... LOL! Did a little stained glass. lamps, etc... Again, no time. Fixing my house up (does that count? not always fun.... but needs to be done) Little gardening in the yard, manly flowers. No room for a proper garden unfortunately. Got my '56 Chevy Navy pickup that is in the process of being restored. Distance and time put a stop on that right now.
