The following item is listed on eBay.  The part number is 249977.  The auction description indicates these bearings fit the B, IB & G tractors.
I looked for this part number in my Model G Dealer Parts Manual but it isn't listed in the index.  I also looked for this part number in my B, IB C Dealer Parts manual but again it wasn't listed.  However, this part number is in my Allis-Chalmers Master Parts Index and it is listed as a Bearing for the B, IB & G tractors.
While there are parts common to the B, IB & G tractors (transmission comes to mind) usually the model C is also included.  The only place I've found that has common parts for ONLY the B, IB & G is the Steering Gear Box.  Yet there isn't anything that looks like the picture of the part there.
I can't figure out where these bearings would go on a Model G...  any thoughts?

Scott

My Model G Dealer Parts Manual has "Worm Bearing Cup" [Part # 210467] Quantity 2 & "Worm Bearing Ball" [Part # 915904] Quantity 20.

The "Worm Bearing Ball" [Part # 915904] is described in the Standard Parts Manual as "Grade No. 3 Chrome Steel" "Size 5/16".

So I guess the auction item was an "engineering upgrade" that would replace the loose bearing balls in the original steering box with fewer balls as a result of the "ball holder" design of the upgrade.

Best regards,

Scott

They look like the parts I got from AGCO when I rebuilt the Ross steering box. Fred and Mark know their parts.
