Boy that makes the 1959 d17 six cylinder gas that I bought the other day look like a jewel. And I had to give $1250.00 for mine. can't see why someone would do a thing like that.

RfDeere, back in the 60's painting your ride with black primer was "the" thing. Lots of cars were partly customized and then painted with it, and with "chrome moon" hub caps lot of us guys were envious!! If not moon caps, the flat aluminum discs (the kind that went from bead to bead) were used. If one of those old customs would show up at a show, there would definately be talk going on. For sure all the old timers would be telling their stories!!! Joe  ps. thanks for your comment, it sure got me to reminscing!

My first AC I ever bought is probably still floating around the Lansing area...it was a D17, front axle was bent, one front wheel trailed the other by about 4 inches.  Someone must have used it out in the woods LOL! When I left the state in '91 I sold it to a gal north of Lansing....she was buying it for a birthday present for her husband. Her friend came and loaded it and some equipment on a rollback....he almost lost a finger in the process....
