I'm looking at a 39hp Mustang brand skid steer loader to do light work..clean cattle pens out etc.Has any one had any experience with the Mustang brand? Loader has 2600 hrs.Has a yanmar diesel engine.I know everyone has there favorites but it's a clean loader and the asking price is just $6000.

I believe they are a good loader, Yanmar's are good engines. they are very similar to a Gehl Skid loader. What model is it?

We own a 2040 and it is a decent skidloader, not the best, not the worst. The older ones had a non standard type quick attach and all hand controls standard, YUK. Ours has a standard quick attach and what I call standard controls also has an enclosed cab which is kinda rare on a machine that old around here. The yammar engines are great. In my opinion when looking at a machine that old for light usage the brand is a lot less important than the condition. Check out those hand controls if its so equipped, I couldnt get used to them. I like the fact that the control safetys on the 2040 are pretty fool proof, the safetys dont mean a thing when you not in a hurry but when things aint going right and your in a hurry and your by yourself,,,,,, things happen. Way too many skid loaders have had the safetys defeated, darn near every one we looked at as a matter of fact, if they do not work FIX THEM!
