Other than cutting up the nice grille, this looks to be kind of an interesting location.

i put 2 head lights on the grill on my 7010, it works great!! lights ahead of all the dust!

Yes it is interesting. Whoever adapted the lights did a great job on cutting & bordering around the lights. It also looks like they would clear any front weights hanging on the weight bracket? Im not crazy about the look of them? Perhaps, they're very functional??

It should make for greater vision. The tractor even comes from a town called Plainview. I think they look good.

That is where my dad works, and it was recently traded in from the original owner. My dad did some work on it, but otherwise its a great tractor, good tranny, and new rear tires. One of the other mechanics asked my dad when they built the 185 tractors with the headlights in the grille because it looks factory. Dad said whoever put them in there did a good job, and were very particular.

If you were to put them dirrectly behind the grill, you wouldn't notice any difference in lighting out in the field. I don't know about the heat from the lights on the paint, but the metal would be fine. Any shadows would be iliminated by the focal point of the light being ahead of the grill, and the two points of light source.

Nice looking tractor. If I had sold my D19 like I planned that 185 would be a temping thing for me right now. I worked for Minnesota Ag Group but at the Kasson store. Plainview used to have both an IH dealer and an Allis dealer. Kobey was the name of the Allis dealer and they and the IH dealership were merged and the AGCO contract was dropped eventually. Hager should know but Kobey is short for a much longer name which I can't quite remember how to spell off the top of my head.

Kobey is short for Kobelarsik(not sure on this spelling?) which was my dad's bosses last name when he owned the dealership (a-c and then deutz, and then agco). He is still part owner, and his son is the manager(now its Case IH and they also sell Krone equipment as well as Kuhn Night and some other brands of equipment). It used to be Kruger Implement(A-C) for a long time, and my dad started working for them in 1972, and he is still working there allthough it has changed hands and colors a couple of times.
